New Policy For Credit Reporting Of Medical Debt
The credit reporting agencies have a new policy for reporting medical debt on consumer credit reports.
The three major credit bureaus (Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) will institute a new policy by March 30, 2023, to no longer include medical debt under a dollar threshold (the threshold will be at least $500) on credit reports.
The new policy requires that medical debts under that threshold will never be reported even if unpaid and even if in collection.
If medical debt under $500 is reported on your credit report after March 30, 2023, Pine Street Legal can assist you in disputing and resolving this inaccurate reporting.
