Change Passwords Following Identity theft

If you have been a victim of identity theft, change all of your passwords right away for accounts such as financial accounts, brokerage accounts, retirement accounts and any other accounts that have to do with your finances.

Be sure to use complex passwords with numbers, special characters and upper and lower characters.

Use different passwords for different accounts.

Also enable the multi-factor authentication on your financial accounts whenever it is offered.

Do not put your passwords in a file on your computer.

Best to keep a hard copy of your passwords in a password book.
