Check Your Credit Report For Accuracy
Credit reports have A LOT of important information that influences your ability to get a mortgage, a lease, loan, a credit card and insurance. So it is important to check it regularly to be sure the information being reported is accurate. Be sure to look for any mistakes like outdated information such as old telephone numbers and addresses. There also can be items that look like simple errors such as misspelling of your name and you might be listed as deceased though you are still alive. There may be accounts listed that you never saw before and you did not apply for and this is a red flag that you may have been a victim of identity theft. The credit reports of others can sometimes get mixed into your credit report resulting in information on your report that has nothing to do with you. Any of these issues need to be corrected to prevent your credit from being negatively impacted.
