Check Your Credit Report For Errors
With all the hacking and problems that occur online, it is best practice to check your credit report for inaccuracies every few months or so. The credit reporting agencies, Experian, Equifax and Trans Union are continuing to offer free weekly online credit reports at annualcreditreport.com. Be sure to check all of the accounts listed, all the personal information included as well as all of the inquiries that have resulted in the release of your credit report to third parties. If you see late payments reported in error, improper balances reported as due, impermissible access by third parties to your credit report, accounts opened and/or reporting as a result of identity theft or that your file has been mixed with someone else’s credit report, you will need to dispute these inaccuracies to the credit reporting agencies. Pine Street Legal can help you review your credit report, identify any inaccuracies and assist you in the dispute process. Contact Nancy Kanter, Esquire at (215) 345-9214, nkanter@pinestreetlegal.com.
