Report Identity Theft Of Your Financial Accounts
If you were the victim of identity theft, call all of your banks, credit unions and financial account holders such as PayPal, Zelle and financial advisors to report the identity theft.
When you make this contact, demand that they freeze your accounts and change the account numbers.
Check your account statements and report any unauthorized transactions.
Change your login passwords on all financial accounts.
Be sure you make contact with all of your financial accounts immediately since most financial institutions and organizations require that you report fraudulent activity on your accounts right away in order for them to consider reimbursing you for any loss due to this activity.
Be sure to keep a log of who you spoke to, when and what was said.
