Are You An Identity Theft Victim?
How can you tell if you are a victim of identity theft? First, Review Your Credit Report. Your credit report has your personal credit history, personal information and includes who requested to receive a copy of your credit report. By checking your credit report you can see if there are any accounts that were fraudulently opened by someone other than you and by being able to see who has pulled your credit report, you may find information that will help you identify the perpetrator. Go to annualcreditreport.com for a free copy of your credit report from Equifax, Experian and TransUnion, each, once every 12 months. Second, Review Your Bank Records. Take a good look at your bank and credit card statements and other financial documents to see if there are any fraudulent entries.
