JURY DUTY SCAM
The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office recently issued a warning of a phone scam where fraudsters are impersonating law enforcement or court officials to extort money. They contact people saying the person has an active arrest warrant for failing to report for jury duty and demand immediate payment to clear the warrant and avoid arrest. DO NOT BELIEVE THIS if you receive such a call. You will be notified by mail if you are being called for jury duty..no one calls from the court demanding cash or making threats of incarceration. If you get a call like this, do not give any information, hang up and report the call to your local police department. Also, the Court has a jury duty office you can call to be sure the call you received is a scam and if you do receive something in the mail, to check its authenticity.
