Identity Theft & Domestic Violence
Domestic violence victims are vulnerable to identity theft because perpetrators of the abuse often have easy access to confidential information that can be used to open new credit cards and lines of credit. With knowledge of confidential information, perpetrators can pull credit reports of domestic violence survivors to track them after they leave abusive situations. Victims of abuse must take extra precautions and steps to protect themselves from abusive partners. Pine Street Legal can help.
